My wine is made at Paso Robles Wine Services, a custom crush facility. I do have a large number of new and used barrels, tanks, bins, and kegs. But all the major equipment belongs to PRWS and the employees are also part of PRWS. As an alternating proprietor I pay for their services.

I do not own a vineyard. My grapes come from vineyards I have learned about over the years, including Herder Vineyard in Paso Robles, French Camp Vineyard in Paso Robles, Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards in Los Alamos, and Scheid Vineyards in Monterey County. This gives me an advantage on the one hand, since I can source my grapes from wherever I choose and do not have to make wine from my own grapes. It is also a disadvantage because I must compete with many other wineries for those grapes.
I also do not own a tasting room. Cost is the major factor, and San Luis Obispo County is making it very hard to have tasting rooms in the unincorporated areas. Perhaps someday I will open one in a city within the county, but that is a long way off at this point. In SLO County, even this shack would be $500K.

Whenever I went into a tasting room I would see customers come in and ask, "Have you got anything sweet?" The winery usually had one sweet wine, but that was it. So I decided to make "Something Sweet". Along the way, I also decided to make other things...

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
