Founded in 1969 by pioneer, Ely Callaway, Callaway Vineyard & Winery became the first winery in the Temecula Valley. A driving force in Southern California's Wine Country, the Callaway name has been synonymous with quality, passion and excellence.Winemaking has been at the heart of this achievement with the focus on fruit-forward wines that pair exceptionally well with food. The legacy continues... Callaway Vineyard & Winery wines are only available at the winery and are not available in any retail stores.

The Temecula Wine Country is located approximately 1600' above the Pacific Ocean in California's South Coastal Mountains just 22 miles inland. A break in the mountains to our west, known as the Rainbow Gap, allows the cool fog to flow inland from the pacific before slowly receding in the late morning. This cool coastal air combined with the warm air that we get from the east creates a micro-climate which is ideal for producing wine grapes.

Callaway Vineyard & Winery currently grows seven different varietals. The winery property now has 20 acres of Estate vineyards planted with Viognier, Syrah, Dolcetto, Zinfandel, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The Lin family owns an additional 200 acres of property at the corner of De Portola Road and Monte de Oro, of which approximately 50 acres are currently planted with Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
