Brooklyn Oenology is a winery, headquartered on the edge of the Williamsburg and Greenpoint neighborhoods, and founded in the spirit of Brooklyn's artisanal resurgence. Brooklyn is an amazing source of creation; BOE comes to weave winemaking into the colorful array. Design, marketing, sales and distribution operate in a converted Greenpoint warehouse, while winemaking is conducted at a host winery on the North Fork of Long Island.

Brooklyn Oenology brings together the borough’s heritage with the celebration of its evolution and continued influence as a cultural and economic force. Brooklyn was built on a foundation of tradition, industry, and craftsmanship, and it now pulses again as it undergoes a renaissance of new identity: the industry of artisanship.

Old storefronts, factories, and warehouses–the places where those before us offered their trade and craft skills to build this city–have a rejuvenated purpose where today’s artisans of all kinds now occupy them.

Alie Shaper, winemaker and owner, is committed to produce wines that express and contribute to the character of our fine borough. Look for our wines in retail shops and dining establishments around Brooklyn and NYC!

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
