Baxter's Vineyards is a small family-owned winery in Nauvoo, Illinois. The winery was established in 1857 by Emile Baxter and continues in the family. Kelly Logan is the fifth generation Baxter to grow grapes and apples. He and his wife Brenda are still producing and bottling Baxter's Old Nauvoo Brand wines.
Baxter's Vineyards offers free wine tasting & self guided winery tours daily. On site, we are also home to Carol's homemade Pies, Seasonality Greenhouse, and are innkeepers for the Nauvoo Grand Bed and Breakfast. In the Fall, Baxter's Vineyards offers pick-your-own apples as well. We sponsor many local events and offer a Farmer's Market in season. We also hold a yearly Home Winemaker's Contest and other events.
The winery is located 11 blocks east of Highway 96 going through the Nauvoo State Park on Parley Street if you are traveling from the west. If you are traveling from the east, turn left on Winchester Street and go south until you reach a T-intersection and then turn right, and the winery will be on the left hand side of the road.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
