ArborBrook Vineyards is a family-owned, high-quality grower and producer of fine wines, specializing in Oregon Pinot Noir. Situated on the southern flank of Yamhill County’s Chehalem Mountain range near Newberg, Oregon, we’re in good company: several of the region’s best vineyards and wineries surround us! Owned and operated by Dave and Mary Hansen, ArborBrook is a boutique producer focused on offering their clients a great experience and great wines!

Dave’s interest in wines began in the early 1980’s when he visited Napa Valley. It was a case of love at first sight and taste! When Dave and Mary began dating, it was decided that Mary needed to “learn how to drink wine”. Subsequent trips to various Oregon and California wine regions became their favorite vacations and they dreamed of someday owning property to grow wine grapes.

Mary, a horse lover forever, dreamed of living on property where she could look out her window and see her horses in the pasture. The vision of someday becoming wine growers, combined with their desire to have the horses at home, drove the Hansens to pursue their dreams of finding country property that could support both of their dreams.

Dave and Mary began searching for property in mid-1999 and found their new home on 30-acres of prime land on Calkins Lane late that year. In January 2000, they moved in! The property, enjoying significant history and character, had most recently been a walnut and hazelnut farm. The house and barn were built in 1910 and the barn housed a walnut processing facility, until Dave and Mary converted it into a horse barn, and then, later, the tasting room.

While Mary got the horses settled into their new home, Dave immediately immersed himself in obtaining as much knowledge as possible in how to start a vineyard. They sought professional assistance from day one, with the goal of creating a premium vineyard. In 2001, the first block of grapes was planted and ArborBrook Vineyards became a reality!

Today, ArborBrook is a family adventure with Mary, Dave, and their daughter, Sydney. We are blessed to have our dreams of owning a vineyard and producing the highest-quality Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris come true. We hope that through enjoying our wines, you will experience what being a part of ArborBrook Vineyards means.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
