Rosés

Donnafugata Dolce & Gabbana Rosa Rosé 2023, Sicily D.O.C., Italy: Such a pretty rosé from Sicily. Donnafugata Dolce & Gabbana Rosa 2023 is produced from sustainably grown Nerello Mascalese and an ancient grape variety, Nocera. Nerello Mascalese is grown on the volcanic soils on Etna among the municipalities of Randazzo and Castiglione di Sicilia and gives floral and mineral components to the wine. Donnafugata planted its hillside vineyard in the Contessa Entellina estate with Nocera giving evenly ripening grapes with a high level of acidity. In both areas, summers are cool with large temperature variations between day and night and winters are mild. Grapes are hand-sorted, destemmed and delicately crushed with a cold maceration up to 12 hours for the best extraction of colour and aromatics. After fermentation of both varietals, the wines are blended followed by two months of ageing in vats and three-plus months of ageing in bottle prior to release. Pale pink in the glass, this rosé is fragrant with exotic florals, pink roses, peach and orchard fruit elegant on the palate with a lingering and fresh citrusy and mineral finish. Enjoy it chilled on its own or with vegetarian dishes and creamy cheeses through 2026. Rosé food pairings: charcuterie, creamy cheeses, pasta Primavera, seafood canapes. Drink: 2024 - 2025 25860 12.7% D 750 mL $53.95 Score: 95/100. June 2024. Top Rated Rosé Wine Full Review Add to Shopping Cart
