Cerro Añon 2018, Rioja D.O.C.A., Spain: From Bodegas Olarra in the Rioja, Cerro Añon Reserva 2018 is a great value Tempranillo red wine blended with 20% Graciano and Mazuelo. Bodegas Olarra was created in 1973 and is located on the outskirts of Logroño in the Rioja Alta. The winery is known as "the Cathedral of La Rioja". The wine is deep ruby in the glass with sour cherry, cassis, fennel, bell pepper, dark chocolate and blood orange zest flavours zesty and lingering on the palate. Tannins are velvety. Soft and elegant, it is dry, medium-bodied and vivacious with bright cherry, raspberry, red currant and bell pepper flavours long and silky on the palate. The wine was produced in stainless-steel tank to retain fruit freshness and acidity and is a perfect pairing to grilled veggies, salads, charcuterie and creamy cheeses.
