Minty blackberry on the nose, with black roasted fruit on the palate. Full-bodied and smooth. Very black and foreboding. Pair with grilled meats.

Reviews and Ratings

Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Nov 16, 2014: Deep ruby, dark cherry, currant and mint notes along with some chocolate and oak spice. Silky palate, full bodied, currant, eucalyptus, dried herbs, mineral, nicely balanced and with some grip on the long finish from the tannins. This Sicilian wine may have you thinking South Australia. Nice value.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Black cherry, mint, smoke and spices, and vanilla. Black cherries and raspberries in the taste along with a little cocoa. There's some nice tannins that show well in the finish and a bright and solky mouth-feel. Itialian with a very new-world lean.
Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby in colour, this blend of Nero D'Avola and Cabernet Sauvignon has complex flavours of raspberry, black currant, cinnamon, herbs, with savoury undertones.
Pair with pasta in tomato sauce or with spiced sausages.
Drink now, or keep until 2016.
Date tasted: November 2014.
This is a full-bodied blend of Sicily's traditional grape Nero d'Avola as well as the more internationally known Cabernet Sauvignon. Oak aging rounds out the package. - Community Wine Reviews
