A robust, juicy, savoury Spanish red wine at a nice price. Supple, velvet smooth and loaded with seductive fleshy black cherry aromas and flavours. Beautiful depth and length. Gorgeous black raspberry on the finish. Pair with grilled lamb, prime rib roast and herbed chicken.

Monastrell food pairings: prime rib roast, roast savoury herbed chicken, roast duck.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Incredible value! Fresh floral and berry forward Spanish Monastrell (known as Mourvedre in France, Mataro in Australia) - a grape known more as a blending component in Southern Rhone reds, bringing grippy tannins to the blend. Enjoy this lovely well-balanced red with braised beef tacos. Tasted Sep 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted April 18th, 2018 at wine club. Colour clear and ruby red. Legs thick. Aromas and flavours of red berries, cherry, raspberry, and licorice. Taste dry, full bodied, red fruit, supported by tannin and a medium plus finish of red fruit. Nice wine good value, pair it with Spanish dishes. A hit at wine club.
Tracy Maas reviewed this wine as follows:

Bought two bottles last year, one remains in cellar
Tarima 2015 is a great value Monastrell from the Jumilla wine region under $20.The image of the passion fruit flower on the front label of this wine was chosen to represent Tarima because of the flower's intricate and fascinating blooms. The Monastrell vines are dry-farmed, sustainably grown. Drink now. - Community Wine Reviews
