Reviews and Ratings

Lee Newby - AIWS reviewed this wine as follows:

Grape Variety: 100% Carignan

Good plus wine with ripe dark red fruit and black cherries over dusty dried herbs and green peppers. The medium minus tannins are grippy and with the medium minus acidity give good structure. The finish is medium plus due to the high fruit intensity. Drink now and for 3-4 years.

Dry farming, which refers to growing the grapes without irrigation, is a technique some producers employ to create smaller – and thus denser and more concentrated – berries. This intense and flavour-packed wine is a resounding success. Opaque ruby. Dark berry preserves and cherry pit on the pungent nose and in the mouth. Sappy, penetrating and spicy, with firm back-end grip and emphatic spiciness. Shows very good depth and a subtle note of vanillin oak with aeration, turning more supple and finishing with very good cling. Score: 89 Source: Josh Raynolds, International Wine Cellar
