Mt. Boucherie 2018 Merlot is so plushy, meaty and juicy. Love the ripe spiced plum and dark cherry aromas on this full-bodied Merlot from the Okanagan Valley, B.C. Supple on the palate with fleshy, ripe black plums, black raspberry, sweet dried tobacco leaf, savoury herbs and smoky spicy, flinty flavours on the palate. Mt. Boucherie Estate takes its name from the volcano that existed in the Okanagan over 40 millions years ago. Pour with some juicy farmer's pork chops from the grill.

Merlot food pairings: grilled sausage, pork roast, veal chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Ripe and flavourful. Aromas of purple plums and blackberries, with hints of mocha, warm spice and campfire smoke. Full bodied, smooth and luscious on the palate with ripe berries and plums, along with tannins that are soft and slightly dusty. On the finish there is a bit of smoky spice and oak. Enjoy with braised beef ribs or any other grilled meats.
