A terrific wine for the money, and a great one for holiday parties and potluck gatherings. It offers aromas and flavours of fleshy ripe cherries with full-bodied weight and mouth-watering juiciness. Finishes with some spice and black plum. Decant 1 hour. Try it with pepperoni pizza or enjoy on its own.

Bardolino food pairings: pizza meat, lasagne, rich tomato sauce and pasta.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Interesting varietal! Very fruit forward (cooked fruit) aromatics reminiscent of berry crumble topped with Chantilly cream. If you are a white wine drinker or not very keen on drinking bold reds, Bardolino will suite your palate quite well. The nose show intense red berries, vanilla and floral notes. The palate shows similar notes but with high high HIGH acidity. Tannins are mild tannins and the finish long with lingering tart cherry note. This is a terrific pizza or charcuterie wine. Enjoy now, cellaring not required. Tasted May 2016. @sommsosa @bespoketastings
Lots of bright red berry fruit notes on the nose and palate of this mouth-watering Italian red wine -- just a great, drink-now wine. Bardolino is often nicknamed "baby Valpolicella," a nod to that appellation that is next to it. - Community Wine Reviews
