The 2016 vintage of this luscious, medium-bodied Reserva Especial Pinot Noir hails from a cooler vintage and the grapes were picked later than usual in the season. Aromas of fleshy ripe black cherries and plums. Silk texture. About 10% of the grapes were whole cluster fermented. The wine was aged in 20% new French barriques for 12 months. Pair with grilled chicken.

Pinot Noir food pairings: roast duck, grilled lamb sausages, gourmet burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A very fruity PN - almost Beajolais-like. Juicy fruity carbonic. Serve chilled.
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted August 28, 2018. Colour ruby red. Legs medium plus. Aromas and flavours of, cherry, ripe strawberry, raspberry and notes of spicy oak. Taste dry, medium body, fruity, mouthwatering, soft tannin, with some heat. Medium fruity finish. Paired with King Cole duck breast. Wine grapes grown in the land of the Incas on mineral soils with cool Pacific breezes. Recommend try.
Maycas Del Limarí Reserva Especial 2016 is a medium-bodied Pinot Noir from a cooler vintage from the Limestone Coast. The wine was matured in 20% new French oak barrels for one year. Drink now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
