Dried tobacco leaf and cigar box smoke on the nose and palate from judicious oak aging on this robust southern French red wine from the Rhone Valley. Black charry plums and berries. Relatively polished tannins. Made primarily from Grenache and Syrah grapes, this Vacqueyras wine has a dense texture with spicy notes on the finish. Pair with hearty meat dishes.

Food pairings: roast pork, roasted root vegetables and Tyroller bacon, sausage cassoulet.

Aromas of dark red cherries, anise, and baking spices carry through to a spicy cherry mouth, present tannins and and a persistent cherry finish.
Wonderful with wild boar and charcuterie boards.
