Pretty and medium-bodied with fleshy cherry and filed berries. This southern French red wine is made from the Gamay grape from one of the most respected regions in Beaujolais -- Morgon. The vines are planted is decomposed rocks. This winery has been family owned since 1942. A little herbal on the finish. Perfect for charcuterie.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby colour denoting the medium(+) body wine in the glass. Rich in aromatics with fleshy plum, candied berries, dark cherry, beet juice, woody with a lift of florals. This Beaujolais is smooth with balanced bright acidity. Love the lingering black pepper finish, Points for value in my book - at $18 there's enough complexity in this youthful beauty that is yours to discover with each sip. This is a buy 2 wine. Meant to be enjoyed today.
Tasted: April 2017
Les Charmes is one of six special climats designated within Morgon. Wines from this are has long ageability and this 2015 example is showing intense layers of plum, raspberry, cherry, rosehip and anise. Nice weight and depth on this wine with a long, savoury finish. - Community Wine Reviews
