Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Solid Bordelais from Chateau Malescasse, made from 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot. The 2008 Left Bank Cru Bourgeois offers a lovely bouquet of dark plum, blackberry, black pepper, truffle, pipe tobacco and oak. Refined and balanced, this medium-bodied wine shows a nice structure for its age and a lovely lingering fruity finish. The journey trough the palate delivers pleasant flavors of plum, fig, molasse, pepper, smoke, dark chocolate and oak. Enjoy!
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Black cherry, plum skin, fruit pit, crushed rocks, sweet earth, cigar tobacco, and a hint of black currant are the hallmarks of this aged Cru Bourgeois. A Bordeaux with a bit of age on it entering the Ontario market is always welcome. 90 Points.
From the Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux Wine Region, Château Malescasse 2008 is a Cru Bourgeois with ripe dark berry, vanilla, cedar spice and toasty oak flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine and smooth. Enjoy now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
