Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lovely, and will be for a while! Aromas of cherry and cranberry, with some earthy, herbaceous notes and a hint of smoke. Medium+ bodied on the palate with some subtle light tannins, mingled nicely with bright acidity and vibrant fresh berry notes and a slightly earthy notes on the finish. Enjoy with salmon, chicken, or pork.
OTHER: There's just something about the home Paul Bosc Estate vineyard in St David's. Maybe it's the position on what was once the lake Iroquois Bench and the soils made up of glacial till and lacustrine sediments. Maybe it's the greatest degree of protection from strong prevailing winds in winter and the moderately steep slopes of terraces that drain potentially damaging cold air away from vineyards on clear, calm winter nights. In summer, the relatively high elevation combined with cool breezes moderate temperatures over this area in the warm months of July and August. In 2016 the weather was about as ideal as it gets and this PBEV pinot noir gained exaggerated benefit from all these things and more. That more includes the legend himself and the winemaking team led by Amélie Boury. Their '16 pinot noir is silky, smooth, sweetly savoury and tannic if softly steeped so, like a rosehip tisane. Needed some time to get here but now is the time. Drink 2019-2022. Score - 92 (Michael Godel, winealign.com, March 5, 2019). - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
