Blackened plums on the nose and palate with smoky, toasty oak from generous oak aging. Full-bodied and fairly smooth Spanish red wine. Berola is the original name for the 12th century monastery of Veruela when the land was first granted to Cistercian monks to tend and plant as vineyards. This wine was aged in French bordelaise oak barrels for 14 months.

Food pairings: lamb shanks in red wine and roasted garlic, grilled lamb lollipops, stuffed lamb tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Kelleen rated this wine as 88/100
From the Campo De Borja wine region in Spain, Borsao Berola is a robust and full-bodied red wine blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon with the Grenache from a vineyard planted in 1956, the Cabernet Sauvignon from a vineyard planted in 1990, and the Syrah from the youngest vines planted 15 years ago. Pair with grilled wild game sausage and fig mostarda. - Community Wine Reviews
