Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dry Olorosos may be less common than they ought to be in North America, but they have a unique style that is pretty compelling for Sherry lovers. They have all of those rich oxidative oaky notes unrestrained and jumping out at you. This one is a great example of that.
A pretty amber-brown, with a nice glass coating effect.
It's a smidge on the lighter side for an Oloroso, which can hit 20% no problem.
The lightness goves you the opportunity to get some more delicate aromas that normally get crushed by barrel and oxidation.
Baked apple, lemon, maple, pecan, barrel, dried figs/sultana/dates, and dried bay.
There is a smidge of acodity that makes it lip smacking, though obviously it is going to be a bit heavier because of the style.
Lots of maple, pecan, dried fruit, baked apple, and a great finsih.
Pair with olives (sweet black ones), sardines, and some bbq veggies.
Bodegas Yuste Aurora Oloroso is a perfect size for a few guests to enjoy a glass with some roasted nuts and aged hard cheeses, nicely nutty with dried fruit and citrus notes. Finishes long and tasty. Enjoy now. - Community Wine Reviews
