Barón De Ley Gran Reserva 2011 is a full-bodied and elegant Rioja red blend of Tempranillo and Graciano from the Rioja Alta and Rioja Oriental (previously Rioja Baja) wine regions. Spicy, with ripe dark fruits and blackberry, savoury and balsamic flavours on this mouth-watering red and juicy for a wide range of dishes from lamb to roast beef. Highly recommended.

Food pairings: roast leg of lamb, roast beef, venison steak and sautéed wild mushrooms.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A lovely Gran Reserva, in fact one of the better ones I've tried in a couple of years. Oak flavours are lovely and resinous with slightly heavier power than the fruit but still maintaining a balance. Smooth and enjoyable now.
Barón De Ley Gran Reserva 2011 is a full-bodied and elegant Rioja red blend of Tempranillo and Graciano from the Rioja Alta and Rioja Oriental (previously Rioja Baja) wine regions. Love the tertiary aromas and flavours of leather and spice, dried blackberries, tobacco leaf and balsamic notes on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews
