Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

My favourite Argentine wines are blended. I enjoy Malbec, but having it cut with a bit of other Bordeaux varietals can create something truly special. I collect Quimera for just such reasons. It is a truly special blend that carries a treasure trove of aromas and flavours of black and purple fruit, fresh and dried herbs, dark chocolate and baking spice, along with tobacco and sometimes a cola note or two. A wine that demands beef or lamb in any form. 94 Points.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

From Mendoza, the Quimera is a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Deep ruby and noticeable tannin. This offering from Achaval Ferrer features a host of red fruit at its core. What is more, it shows glimpses of enticing earthiness and dried herbs. Medium bodied, complex wine has a long fruit finish.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
