Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

free form 2019 is a delightfully fresh Vin Gris produced from certified organic, 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from OCP's Garnet Valley Ranch in Summerland. Delicate, lemony and leesy with poached pear, savoury herbs, pepper spice flavours, fresh on the palate with a long, silky, fresh and slightly salty umami finish. Bottled unfiltered. Tasted February 2024.

Grapes were whole bunch pressed, fermented with natural yeasts and aged in small concrete eggs, keeping the wine fresh, textured with a touch of briny minerality. Produced by winemaker, Matt Dumayne.

Natalie's Review

Okanagan Crush Pad Free Form Vin Gris 2019, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia BC V.Q.A., Canada: From the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia wine region, Okanagan Crush Pad's Free Form 2019 Vin Gris is a vegan-friendly Vin Gris produced from Pinot Noir grapes, and for the first time, the grapes for the 2019 vintage were sourced from Garnet Valley Ranch. As produced in the past two vintages, grapes were whole bunch pressed and wild fermented in concrete, where it also underwent full MLF, then rested six months on its lees prior to being bottled unfiltered. Fresh, lovely with a bit of a spritz, look for cold Earl Grey tea, quince, dried berries with a tangy lingering minerally finish. Nicely done! Drink or hold. Drink: 2022-2024. 15738 13.60% XD 750 mL  $33.95 Score: 91/100. August 27, 2022 Top Rated Rosé Wine. Terrific Turkey Wine  Full Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
