Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Love the tang on this dry, medium-bodied 2021 Rosé from Fort Berens Estate Winery. The 2021 is a fragrant and vibrant blend of mostly (79%) Pinot Noir with 13% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc sourced from estate-grown grapes.

Fresh on the nose, structured, zesty and tangy on the palate with ripe raspberry, red berry, wild strawberry, fine herbs, pink cotton candy with a touch of spice lingering on the finish. Says summer all over it.

A portion of the grapes were destemmed, crushed and spent 12 hours on their skins enhancing the wine’s structure and giving it a bright, medium pink colour in the glass. Grapes were then gently pressed, settled and the wine juice racked from solids. A long, cool fermentation gives the wine its fresh and intense berry fruit nose and vibrant flavours on the palate. Chill and enjoy on it own or pour with chicken kebabs from the grill. Tasted June 2022.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
