This medium bodied red wine has aromas of ripe cherry, tobacco, cedar and vanilla. On the palate it is smooth and velvety with notes of cherry and raspberry, layered with leather, earth, vanilla, cedar, tomato stem and dried herbs like oregano.

This wine was delicious paired with a baked lasagna.

Villa Antinori Riserva Chianti Classico 2016, Tuscany D.O.C.G., Italy: From the Tuscany wine region, Villa Antinori 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva is a beautifully-crafted juicy red wine blend of 90% Sangiovese, 5% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot produced by Marchesi Antinori. Antinori has been in the wine business since 1385 – that’s 26 generations. Look for liquid ripe cherry, spicy plum, black currant, black olive, earthy truffle, sweet dried tobacco leaf matched with mouth-watering acidity and fine grippy tannins showing elegance and power -- a good cellaring candidate.
