Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This was served lightly chilled at the San Pedro 1865 winemakers’ meet and wine tasting. The aromas we really refined on this with a pronounced display of blackberry, cranberry and earthy patent leather. Flavours reveal red plums, tomato, red pepper and savoury peppery cedar driven heat. Medium plus acidity, body and refined - yet distinct tannins. Needs fatty charcuterie, steak and a visit with friends! 90 points - Tasted October 23, 2018
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Dry, balanced, earthy notes of oak and peat on the finish. Slight pepperiness with ripe cherry. Medium bodied, smooth medium tannins. Paired well with roast meats. Tasted 2017 vintage in October 2018. 89 points
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From the Maipo Valley, Chile, the 1865 Selected Vineyards 2017 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested by hand at the Vinas San Pedro Vineyard, which is owned by 1865 Vineyards. This wine reveals aromas of black cherry, dark skin plum, dried herb, cigar box, black pepper, leather and oak. Full body whit a long finish, the Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 exposes well dosed tannin. On the palate, black plum, black currant, violet, black pepper, dark chocolate and oak. Pair with red meat, of course! Enjoy. Tasted at Chateau Laurier winemakers from Vina San Pedro’s properties 1865 Single Vineyards October 2018.
Jane Staples rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile's Upper Maipo Valley. Shows ripe berry aromas of raspberry, cherry and blueberry, made more interesting by spicy notes due to 12 months aging in French oak. A medium-bodied Cab, round in the mouth with smooth tannins and an elegant finish that gives a spicy mocha touch. Excellent match for roast beef or lamb, meat stews or strong cheese.
Tasted Oct. 2018 with the winemaker, Matias Cruzat.
Melanie Lloyd rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley has juicy raspberry, blueberry, and plum aromas with wet cedar notes and hints of vanilla bean. It is full-bodied on the palate, with red berry flavours, sweet spice, black pepper, and roasted cocoa bean at the finish. The tannins are smooth and it is a nicely balanced wine.

Wine-Food Pairing: Braised beef. Venison. Sharp cheese.

Tasted October 2018 at the Vina San Pedro wine tasting event.
