Deep ruby with a pronounced nose and aroma of blackberry and dark cherry. Aromas of leather, tobacco and cedar were also noted as well as a faint rose. Full bodied with medium tannin and acidity; mature cheddar enhanced the berry/cedar taste. An excellent sipper or food wine.

A good value Bordeaux - medium bodied with an earthy nose, typical - and offering layered flavors of raspberry, plum, cherry, spice, earth, smoke and leather.

Château Peymelon 2006, Blaye Côtes De Bordeaux, Bordeaux A.C., France: This is a value-priced wine from the remarkable 2006 vintage for Bordeaux. It's rustic and robust with aromas of wild tiny cherries and raspberries. There's some attractive smoke and dried herbs on the finish. I find this wine is more full-bodied than medium, but it's not heavy. Great for hearty meat dishes. Drink: 2017-2019. 512558 13% XD 750 mL $19.95 Score: 89/100. October 6, 2018 Best Value Red Wine.
