Heather Wall rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

There's plenty to write home about in this Australian red wine. Ripened red and black fruit, sweet spices, coffee, and bakers chocolate with a lift of florals. Tannins are polishing; medium acidity; medium(+) body. This Merlot can certainly be enjoyed on it's own or pair with lighter meats; pasta with tomato sauce.
Tasted: October 2016
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Scooter 2014, from McLaren Vale, Australia. Ruby red, with stewed plum, black berry, herbs, and leather on the nose. Smooth and refined palate, with baking spices and plum on the fine finish. Very approachable, great on its own or when paired with porchette pork roast, grilled lamb lollipops, or Chili Colorado. Tasted October 2016. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Natalie's Review

Mollydooker The Scooter Merlot 2014, Mclaren Vale, South Australia, Australia: Warm, rich, enveloping and comforting. Yes the alcohol is high at 15% but it feels and tastes balanced for such a hefty wine. Rich black plum liqueur and blackberry jam. Perfect for the hearties of meat dishes. Drink: 2015-2019. 462275 14.50% D 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 90/100. October 12, 2016  Full Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
