Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
A really good Bordeaux blend from Painted Rock. Blackberry, plum and cherry notes with some dried herb towards the finish. Tannins are a bit tight and the wine could easily be cellared for 3-5 years before enjoying.

Black currant, blackberry, salty miso paste, smokey molasses. This wine has a lot of bite with intense cherry, and flavour also has a touch of salty soy. The miso-soya replays would make me pair this with a soya marinate cut of beef... If you like that kind of thing!
Terry Jeans rated this wine as
92/100 with the following review:
A very respectful Bordeaux blend with lots of intense ripe blackberry, plum, herbal notes. Complex and appealing nose with equally intense palette, that combines high acidity, thick tannins to give you a complete package. Could be cellared easily for a while to soften the edges, however sometimes it is better to live in the present and pair this with a lamb roast.

Red Icon is the award winning premium Bordeaux blend from Painted Rock Winery, one of Canada’s leading wineries, located in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. A Right Bank blend of 33% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc, 21% Petit Verdot, 12% Malbec, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, all from their estate vineyards, this is a serious wine, built for the long run, which will continue to evolve for many years in the cellar. The nose of this youthful wine shows sweet and mouthwatering layered dark fruit, cassis, roasted beets, and charcoal. Dry and tightly wound, with an abundance of extra fine tannins, this would be enjoyed best with charcoal grilled premium cuts of beef, and cellaring is certain to pay-off as this young wine has yet to reach its great potential. Drink 2018-2028+. Tasted September 2015. 92 points. Matt Steeves – http://www.quercusvino.ca
Sean O'Regan rated this wine as
92/100 with the following review:
Deep ruby, the nose still a little tight, showing plummy, berry, spice and herb notes.Medium full on the palate, very classy with cassis, blackberry, floral/cherry fruit, with cedar, mineral and savory notes. Exceptional balance, with juicy acidity and firm grippy tannins, this wine is young and build for aging. Decant for a few hours now if you must, but 3-5 years in the cellar will be worth the wait as it develops. The bottles of this vintage in my cellar will sit for 5 years and be consumed 2020 - 2025+
Jane LeFresne rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
Painted Rock is a relatively young winery having planted vines only in 2005. It was previously one of the largest apricot orchards in the British Commonwealth.
With 100 per cent estate grown grapes the Red Icon has aromas of red and black currant, vanilla, baking spices along with dark rich berries including blackberry and cherry.
Flavours of dark cherry, red and black currant and chocolate.
The wine finishes big with lasting acidity and lots of red and black currant.
