It's a blend of Petit Syrah (53%), Zinfandel (28%), Syrah (6%) and Merlot (4%)
Deep garnet color with aromas of blackberry, bleuberry, oak, vanilla, violet and chocolate.
This wine is round, medium-bodied and medium on the palate.
Pair it with duck with candied cherries.
Serve it at 15-17 degrees.
Ready to drink.

A smooth, seductive blend from California. Berry flavours, light tannin, medium bodied, and a hint of spice and leather make this wine a pleasant surprise - better than expected. Try it with Valentine's Day pasta, beef or pork.

A nose of spare ribs and General Tao chicken? Spices and meat, but not in an aggressive way. It s not vulgar,nor very hardcore. Rather meek,if you ask me.More like satin ribbons than leather handcuffs. Not likely to make you swoon, but it is fairly balanced. Better than i expected with the hype, but it won't make me crack my whip.

Soft aromas of dried herbs, rose, leather, and dried black fruit. The flavour is blackberry and very tart black cherry, with some fine tannins and high acidity. A very pretty wine, ideal for a peppery, dry rubbed port roast.

There's a lot of funny analogies that can be made about this wine. I find that the name "satin" evokes the essence of this wine. It's soft and perfumed, with ripe berries, rose, and even a touch of lemongrass. The palate is also soft. A nice wine for sipping, a great romantic wine for valentines day despite the kitchiness of the label/name

Pleasantly surprised with this wine. Predicting that it will attract significant attention due solely to its name, I think consumers will enjoy it for more than whats on the label. What's in the bottle caught my attention. Nose shows pleasant dark fruits, dried fruit, vanilla, herbs and leather, yes leather. Perhaps that's where they got their inspiration for the title. Marketing is alive and well in the wine business and this is another example. The SAQ managed to get an exclusive purchase of that red made especially for the launch of this book turned into a movie 50 Shades of Grey. The result? A pleasant wine (i promise no s&m jokes...) with a blackberry nose. The assemblage of mostly Petite sirah and Zinfandel offer a decent product for the price.

The producers of this wine want you to think seduction and allure. First impressions are just that. Peppery and fruity this wine also has aromas of leather.... need I say more. A nice smooth wine that would be good for the day ... or sipping by candlelight.

Medium ruby, this blend of Petit Syrah and Syrah has a nose of cherry, green herb, vanilla and oak spice showing on the nose. Medium body, cherry, raspberry fruit with lifted acidity and fine tannins. More than just a marketing gimmic, this is actually a very pleasant wine well suited for pork tenderloin roast or pasta with meat sauce.

Fifty Shades Of Grey Red Satin 2011, California, United States: No mention of the book that inspired this wine, but no matter. This wine stands on its own without being propped up (or loosely bound).
