This is a firm, powerful and complex amarone, to stick in the cellar for a couple of years. There is intriguing complexity with very ripe plum/prune, fruit, roasted chestnut, underbrush, leather and a slightly damp earth tone. It is full bodied, rich, powerful, dense and warm with firm acidity, a sense of minerality and considerable drying, gritty/sandy tannin. Excellent length. Last tasted July 2013.

Oh No a typo…and thats what happens when you thoroughly enjoy a fantastic wine! Cesari Amerone 2008 !
it was one of those nights! i felt reckless, so what it was mid week...i looked into the wine fridge, there she was, that bottle that i was saving for a special occasion...well this was that occasion, i needed something that was going to make me sigh that sigh of pure contentment .....I reached for the Amarone...This wine literally morphs! On the nose, there was a rich berry presence, cherries..the first taste is curious, the cherries are non negotiable, they are the dominant presence but then a rich chocolate note introduces itself, there was a floral flavour which i went backwards and forwards over...i thought for quite some while that it was violets but then it became so profound...rose...wow! there was a delicate introduction of spice and a delicious long tannin finish! a pure delight!
botooms up!

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
