Malcolm Lamont rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Hungary's signature desert wine, Tokaji (the J is silent) Aszu is made from Botrytis which is known as Noble Rot. This inert fungus draws the water out of the Furmint grapes, leaving behind just the concentrated aromas/flavours, colour, acid, and of course, Sugar!

4 Puttonyos indicates the number of buckets, or puttonyos of the affected grapes that are added to the base wine.

This golden wine has some green hues, and aromas of honey, burnt biscuit, orange marmalade, and canned peach.

Medium sweet on the palate, and this expression is nicely balanced by the structure of the wine.

Pair with salty cheeses, foie gras, or white chocolate. Or enjoy as a night cap with friends!

Natalie's Review

Tokaji Kereskedöház Tokaji Aszú 4 Puttonyos 2003, Hungary, Hungary: Vintages Wine Panel: Once regarded as an elixir of human life, Tokaji provides a truly exceptional end to a fine meal, or a unique treat in itself. This one shows a deep yellow gold in the glass, with aromas of honeycomb, marmalade, sponge toffee, dried mango, and apricot jam. Silky-smooth texture, medium body, and a very tasty finish. Rejuvenating. My note: Beautiful! Gorgeous combination of honeyed sweetness a nice tang on the finish. Ripples of sugared clementine through the middle. The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
