Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep clear ruby. Beautiful thick slow legs showing some extraction.Dry, Medium++ body with velvet tannins. With medium acidity and medium+ alcohol this wine is still developing.
Medium+ intensity aromas of black fruit( cassis, black cherry, plum, blueberry), violets, anise, raisin, black pepper, vanilla and eucalyptus.
Flavours on the palate were complex and layered. All the black fruit is present but added in the mix is black earth, aged beef, prune and baked pie.
The finish is long and creamy. Drink now with potential for ageing. Well balanced and good value at $19.95
Great BBQ wine(beef ribs, charred steak)

Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby in colour, this mouth-coating wine has ripe, well-integrated tannins and refreshing acidity with flavours of blueberry, black currant jam, blackberry pie, licorice, cloves, raisin, violet, and forest floor. The complex flavours linger on the long, warming finish.
Drink now, or cellar until 2017.
Pair with grilled beef or lamb.
Date tasted: March 2014.
Tarang reviewed this wine as follows:

Berry smooth delicious -- great with Indian food

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
