From the Brouilly, Beaujolais wine region, Château De Nervers 2019 Gamay is dry, medium-bodied, juicy and fresh with rose petal, red berry, earthy, peppery and flinty mineral flavours on the palate balanced with vibrant acidity and fine, silky tannins. Pour with roast chicken.

Food pairings: pepper steak, pork tenderloin, lamb chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Made from Gamay, this deep ruby-coloured Red reveals on the nose notes of blueberry compote along with black cherry, red field berries, aromatic violet, forest floor, vanilla bean, and hints of eucalyptus.

Smooth and medium-bodied on the palate with fresh acidity and notes of dark cherry and rich cocoa. The tannins are gentle and the flavours linger.

Wine-Food Pairing: This would pair nicely with roast beef or burgers. I paired my glass with meat lasagna and the result was harmonious.

Tasted March 2022.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
