From the Côtes De Bourg, Bordeaux wine region, Château Belair-Coubet 2019 is a great value Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Bordeaux red wine blend with grapes sourced from vines over 40 years of age. Dry, full-bodied, lush on the nose and palate with layers of ripe black fruit, plum, red berry, sous bois and toasty oak spice flavours smooth and elegant with a long silky finish. All this for less than $20. From a 6th generation Bordeaux wine-producing family. When Alain Faure took over the management of the Faure winery in the 1970s, the estate was made up of some 17 hectares of vineyard. In the 1980s, his daughter, Delphine Faure Maison, took over the winery, upholding the family's traditional values of "discerning - humanist - devotion to wines".

Food pairings: veal cutlets, wild mushroom bisque, lamb lollipops.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
