Concha y Toro Marques De Casa Concha Chardonnay 2008, Maipo Valley, Chile: Vintages Wine Panel: A vibrant and deliciously layered Chardonnay from one of Chile’s newest viticultural hot spots, the Limarí Valley. Ripe pear, melon, citrus zest, buttered toast, and smoke ascend from the glass. On the palate, it’s medium-full bodied yet quite elegant, with bright acidity bringing balance. A toasty oak note emerges on the lingering finish. Expertly made, and a very fine value. My note: Pleasant quaffer without being too heavy. Aromas of green apples, peach, butter and some smoke. Drink: 2010-2013. 342857 14% D 750 mL $17.95 Score: 88/100. September 18, 2010
