Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc 2012, Awatere Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand: Grassy great and refreshing with lots of acidity. Medium-bodied without oak. The cool climate and porous soils of this region show in the expressive nature of this zippy wine. It's not easy being green, but it's delicious! Drink: 2013-2015. 713958 13.80% XD 750 mL $23.95 Score: 90/100. May 10, 2014

Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc 2013, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: One of New Zealand's best known (and most loved) Sauvignon Blancs, Kim Crawford delivers well above it's price point. This half bottle size is great when you only want a couple of glasses of wine, and it offers terrific lemon and lime brightness. The full bottle size is also available in liquor stores now. Winemaker Anthony blends different vineyard parcels of the grapes, like they do in Champagne to create more complexity and interesting flavours.
