Featherstone Black Sheep Riesling 2011, Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: So beautiful! This riesling has it all: juicy, peach and lime aromas, balance, complexity, length and lambs. (That was a baaaaah-d joke, I know.) Medium-bodied and packed with flavour. These folks are Riesling Masters: Ka-pow! Drink: 2013-2017. 80234 10% M 750 mL $16.95 Score: 91/100. August 30, 2014
Best Value White Wine. Scrumptious Seafood Wine Full Review
Rocca Delle Macìe Chianti Riserva Sangiovese 2005, D.O.C.G. Tuscany, Italy: Vintages Wine Panel: This is an exceptional value for Chianti! The aromas are intense, showing black cherry, dried mixed berries, forest floor, new leather, sweet spices and licorice notes. It’s dry, medium-bodied and very well balanced, with good fruit intensity and hints of pencil shavings leading to a medium-long, toasty finish. Extremely food-friendly, it will make a fine match for roasts, homemade meatballs, meatloaf or gourmet pizzas. My note: Mocha, black cherry goodness. Terrific wine for the money. Rich, warm, smooth layers of blackberry and black plum with a coffee-tinged finish. More New World cabernet than Chianti to me, but heck it’s good wine so let’s not quibble. 111641 13.90% XD 750 mL $15.00 Score: 90/100. February 28, 2009
