Mission Hill Family Estate Five Vineyards Cabernet Merlot 2011, Okanagan Valley, BC VQA, Canada: Robust and tannic, needs some cellar time and an hour of decanting. This full-bodied blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is sourced from five vineyards on the winery's estate. Dark fruit, tarry notes and smoky oak. Good with a rare steak. Domaine Les Grands Bois Cuvée Maximilien Cairanne 2012, Côtes Du Rhône-Villages, A.C., France: This full-bodied French red wine offers seductive blackberry liqueur aromas and flavours and a ultra-velvet texture on the tongue. Momo Seresin Estate Pinot Noir 2012, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: Big and juicy, with pleasingly tart and vibrant cherry aromas and flavours in this kiwi pinot noir. Mouth-watering acidity is fantastic for a range of dishes, from planked salmon to roast chicken. Smooth and medium- to full-bodied. Very tasty. Made by the film director of many famous movies, including several of the Harry Potter series. This red wine is bio-gro certified and the grapes came from three vineyard sites.
