Quails' Gate Estate Winery Merlot 2007, Okanagan Valley, BC, VQA, Canada: A serious, deep, rich Merlot with seemingly endless layers of plush black plums and berries. Fine tannins give a superbly smooth mouth-feel. The grapes for this wine were harvested in October 2007 so they had pletny of time to develop rich and complex flavours. Reif Estate Winery The Magician Shiraz Pinot Noir 2010, V.Q.A., Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: Love it! Peppered black plum aromas on the nose with full-bodied, luscious layers of dark fruit flavour on the palate. This wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
