Clos De Los Siete Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Syrah 2007, Mendoza, Argentina: This wine is a joint venture of five wineries and headed up by the famed flying winemaking consultant from Bordeaux, Michel Rolland. The blend is 48% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 12% Syrah. Half of the wine was aged in French oak for one year. It displays great complexity and balance, especially for a wine at this price point. Aromas of big black fruit (blackberry, cassis) with a little smoky oak in the background.
