Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Shiraz 2015, South Australia, Australia: This is the fourth vintage for this wine, as indicated by the back label, though there is no vintage printed on the label front or back. Dense, rich and concentrated Australian Shiraz. This wine was matured in French and American oak barrels for 15 months, then for another 3-6 months in old Scotch whisky barrels. This adds a sweet caramelized note to the wine. Pair with a pepper steak. Drink: 2017-2020. 419986 14% MD 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 89/100. March 31, 2018 Best Value Red Wine. Full Review

Santa Carolina Reserva De Familia Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Maipo Valley, Chile: Full-bodied Chilean Cabernet with aromas of cassis and tart blackberry. Layers of flavour with dark spice on the finish. This is the winery's flagship wine that's aged for 14 months in oak barrels. Pair with osso bucco. Maison Albert Bichot Pinot Noir 2011, A.C., Burgundy, France: An intensely aromatic red wine with notes of field flowers, cherries and fresh earth. Great balance and finesse. A superb wine ... this is why I love Burgundian pinot noir so very much. Try it with planked salmon or simply on its own for pure hedonistic pleasure. Drink: 2013-2017. 166959 13% XD 750 mL  $16.95 Score: 92/100. December 7, 2012 Best Beef Wine Full Review
Château Argadens Supérieur 2009, Bordeaux A.C., France: Classic band-aid on the nose (a good thing), black fruit, smoke and tar. Tannic, but nothing that decanting 1-2 hours can't help. An incredibly great price for Bordeaux. Drink: 2014-2019. 681643 13% XD 750 mL  $17.95 Score: 89/100. March 29, 2014 Best Value Red Wine. Best Beef Wine Full Review
