Layer Cake Primitivo 2011, Puglia I.G.T., Italy: Sweet purple plums and fleshy blueberries on the nose and palate. Almost full-bodied and very plush and smooth. The requisite grandfather story is on the back label along with the words 100% hand-crafted. Loaded with mocha and black icing, this is a liquid layer cake.
