Santa Carolina Cachapoal Carmenere 2014, Chile: A beautifully seductive Chilean Carmenere at an incredibly great price. Aromas of fleshy ripe black plums and a hint of smoke and spice. Velvet texture on the tongue. Perfect party wine. The grapes for this wine come from the winery's La Rinconada estate vineyard. Try this with meat and a mild to medium curry. Santa Carolina Merlot 2015, Chile: Juicy, full-bodied and luscious with fleshy ripe flavours of purple plums and raspberry jam. Smooth and supple. This is an incredible price for this quality. Great party wine. Finishes with sweet spices. Pair with spaghetti bolognese sauce, meat balls, meat lovers' pizza and veal stew. Santa Carolina Reserva Merlot 2014, Chile: A full-bodied, smooth and delicious Chilean red wine. This Reserva Merlot is more subtle and less fruit forward than the winery's regular Merlot. It also shows more smoke and toasty oak from barrel aging. The grapes for this wine are grown in the winery's Los Lingues and Miraflores estate vineyards planted on the slopes of the Andes. Aromas of spice, cinnamon, dried tobacco leaves, cigar box. Pair with poultry, gouda or edam cheese or ragout. Merlot food pairings: bbq spareribs, grilled steak, prime rib.
