Dear Dionysus, |
November 9, 2012 | Monday evening was a terrific celebration of Canadian food, wine and writing at Taste Canada Food Writing Awards.
I raise my glass to fellow winners Julie Van Rosendaal, CBC TV's It's Just Food, as well as Food Network chefs David Rocco, Made in Italy, and Michael Smith, Michael Smith's Kitchen.
Here's a quick overview if you're looking to try some new cookbooks or for holiday gifts.
Also on Monday, host Bev Thompson and I chatted about affordable wines on Canada AM for holiday entertaining.
All of the bottles are under $15 ... stock up to pour like Santa, save like Scrooge. I'll be back to chat with her about sparkling wines in a few weeks' time.
Speaking of affordable wines, tomorrow's wine picks has a number of great bottles, including one of my fav BC chardonnays, a rose sparkling wine that's perfect for New Years and a robust Australian shiraz for movie night. Have a great weekend,
P.S. If you're looking to give a gift subscription to the wine reviews, you can do so here and pick the date you want to send it, like say December 25 ... get two (or one for yourself as well) and you'll get a signed copy of Red, White and Drunk All Over free.
