Dear Natalie, |
June 9, 2011 | After the launch of the new web site last week, I celebrated with an excellent bottle of wine. Had it not gone so well, I would have opened an excellent bottle of wine.
I'm glad (and relieved) that you like the new visual format for the wine picks and food pairings. I love reading your comments in the new Connect area about the latest wines you've tried, even if it's just, "I like it!" And really, isn't that enough most of the time?
My thanks go to the wine and food bloggers who have also helped to make this such a vibrant community. I'll be highlighting them each week on Connect, starting with two excellent wine reviewers: Bella McDowell and Tyler Philp.
Let me know if you have suggestions for the site, as we'll continue to add new features and content every week. Meanwhile, version 2.1 of the iPhone app is out, and Droid is right around the corner. Stay tuned and raise a glass with me this evening!

Here are my top wine picks this week. The highlights include a terrific line-up of wines for Father's Day, big reds from Australia and Italy and zippy whites for seafood and salad. More »
How about some mouth-watering Hawaiian short ribs with tropical salsa and marinade for Dad this Sunday? Pair this manly meal with one of the full-bodied red wines from Australia or Italy that I've recommended above, beat your chest and growl with pleasure. More »
I'm often asked which restaurants I like in various cities, particularly those with good wine lists and wine service. I've compiled a list of my favs, and lots of other folks have contributed theirs... let me know yours too please. Bookmark it Dano! More » |
