Small Parcels:

Small Parcels are micro-cuvees representing the very best of what New Zealand’s pristine, cool-climate vineyards can produce. They often reflect specific site, expressing a unique terroir in a special way. Each wine is rare, handcrafted, world-class gem for enthusiasts and collectors.

Fizz:

Felicity Nelson, the legendary personality who hosts all of our New Zealand vineyard and winery visitors, is so bubbly and vivacious she goes by the nickname “Fizz.” Our Methode Traditionnelle is a tribute to her individuality, vigor and quirky sophistication.

My Tasting Notes:

I tasted the 2009 Small Parcels Fizz at a New Zealand Bubbly and Chardonnay promotion. These sparkling and Chardonnay wines were chosen by an astute panel of industry experts in New Zealand to help showcase the best of the best for each category.

The Fizz was tasted with five other vintage and non-vintage sparkling wines. The Fizz was high up on sparkling wine chart and for good reason. This is a classy sparkling wine filled with citrus and yeasty aromas, clean crisp apple, lemon and minerals on the palate. There is an elegance wine reminding me of a few of more expensive Champagnes from France. The Fizz is an excellent wine that’s great on its own or paired with any soft cheese and baguette or with raw oysters.
