Reviews and Ratings

David Skinner rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby and a tight purple rim. Plum, black cherry and coffee aromas. Flavours of dark fruit and nutmeg accompany some caramel hints. Medium tannins and uplifting acidity. A well balanced, medium-full bodied wine. A medium long finish.

This would go well with a roasted tomato and basil sauce over penne pasta and a splash of EVOO and pecorino.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark purple with aromas of smoky black plum, vanilla, and a hint of dark chocolate. The taste is big, smooth chocolatey plum with very rounded tannins and medium acidity. Pair with beef stew on a cool day
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

What a deal! Here we have a pleasant, rich and flavourful Californa Merlot at a bargain! Aromas show pronounced cook raspberry notes, while the palate shows added notes of baking spice, cedar, and vanilla. Pair this medium-bodied, mouthwatering Merlot with a juicy fatty rib steak. Tasted Oct 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Juicy red and black berry fruit, racy acidity, medium tannins, well balanced. This is a crowd pleasing Merlot made from 86% Sonoma and 14% Napa fruit. Pairs well with Thai basil beef stir fry or Chinese beef dumpling pot stickers. @jonsteeves rated 89/100 - tasted Oct 2016 - www.bespoketastings.ca
Carola Price rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Bright deep red with a nose of coffee, pepper, black cherry and some cassis. In the mouth it is a blend of soft black fruit and some earthy and coffee components. Medium bodied and soft (tannin, fruit and alcohol). Good on its own with some dips and spreads it will serve as a short term house wine for late summer gatherings. Drink now
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ghost Pines sources grapes from various areas that they feel make the best blends. The 2013 Merlot Blend is 86% Sonoma and 14% Napa County. Enticing aromas of dark fruit, vanilla, chocolate and leather. Medium tannins and acidity with lots of fruit flavours. A great match for saucy bbq'd ribs! Tasted July 24, 2016.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Ripe black cherry on the nose with mocha and hints of cedar on the palate. The fruit flavors are somewhat subdued but still is a nice bodied wine with moderate tannins and a lingering finish. Pair with a cheeseburger.
