Grassy great!! Want lawnmower satisfaction ... cut the lawn without cutting the lawn. Love it! OTHER: The 2013 Outer Limits Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from Aconcagua Valley from the coastal and northern zone of Zapallar, seven kilometers from the sea, which provides freshness. It's a powerful wine, with pungent aromas extracted from the skin for some seven months contact, with a mineral feeling, akin to a Sancerre, serious and austere, with gooseberries, tomato leaves, ending again mineral and saline. This is a superb Sauvignon Blanc. The vines were planted in 2006 and the first harvest bottled was 2011. Experiment with iodine-rich seafood, like sea urchin. Uhhhmmm! Drink now-2017. Score - 91 (Luis Gutierrez, erobertparker.com, June 2014)

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: spiny, salty seafood.

Reviews and Ratings

Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Oct 23, 2014: Tasted blind at NCSG Vintage pre-release event.
Pale yellow, the intense nose on this is a dead giveaway to the wine being Sauvignon-Blanc with herbaceousnous, gooseberry, citrus grapefruit, green peas, light tropical and candyfloss notes. The palate is also intensely flavoured with citrus lemon/grapefuit, gooseberry and passion fruit. Light bodied and crisp with a long finish. The surprise comes finding out that this was from Chile, as it is very much Marlborough, New Zealand in style. A gread pairing for a fennel, citrus and arugula salad.
The grapes for this wine are sourced from the Zapallar Vineyard. The 2013 vintage of Outer Limits Sauvignon Blanc is grown in vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley from the coastal and northern regions of Zapallar, about 8 kilometers from the ocean, thus its zestiness. This wine derives extra flavour from 7 months of skin contact, as well as the fact that the vines were planted in 2006. - Community Wine Reviews
