Antinori Tenuta Tignanello Chianti Classico 2019, Tuscany I.G.T., Italy: From the Tuscany wine region, Tignanello 2019 is a dry, robust and powerful Super Tuscan that Antinori began crafting in 1385. Produced from mostly Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes from vines planted 350 to 400 vines above sea level. The 2019 vintage is quite tannic right now, but given a few years to marry and mellow, the wine is promising bright red berry fruit, blueberry, cherry, mint, lavender and citrus zest flavours on the palate. Masi Serego Alighieri Monte Piazzo Valpolicella Classico 2018, Veneto D.O.C., Italy: From the Veneto wine region, Masi Serego Alighieri Monte Piazzo Superiore 2018 is a dry, medium-plus-bodied Valpolicella Classico produced from the Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara red wine grapes. The Molinara grapes are a clone of Serego Alighieri's. The wine was fermented for 15 days in stainless steel tanks and was double fermented with semi-dried grapes in December of the year of harvest. It was aged 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels, then in 600-litre cherry wood casks for four months. Cave Spring CSV Estate Grown Riesling 2019, Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: From Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment wine region, Cave Spring Csv 2019 Riesling is dry, medium-bodied and produced from Old Vines Riesling that were planted in the late-1970s. This is the winery's flagship Riesling and is fragrant with ripe apricot, fine herbs, lime-lemon zest, baking spices and steely mineral aroma and flavours well-defined and intense on the palate. About 10% of the wine was barrel-fermented showing a lovely roundness on the wine that will continue to evolve over the next few years. Chill and enjoy with a pork tenderloin from the grill.
