Montes Alpha Carmenère 2021, Colchagua Valley D.O., Chile: Montes Alpha 2021 Carmenère is produced from sustainably-grown, dry-farmed grapes sourced from the Marchigue and Apalta, Colchagua Valley wine region. A lovely vintage that is dry and medium-plus-bodied, showing plenty of ripe red berry, blueberry fruit, sweet dried tobacco leaf and spicy notes on the palate. Tannins are fine-grained. Drink through 2026. Carmenère food pairings: wine-braised beef, turkey with heavy sauces, wild boar, bison chilli.
